Portogruaro & Concordia Sagittaria

Portogruaro & Concordia Sagittaria

by davide

There are many cities of historical importance that can be visited starting from Caorle. In less than 30 minutes by car you can reach Portogruaro, a small medieval town, rich in historical and architectural features, such as the characteristic Palazzo Comunale, the nineteenth-century Cathedral, and the mills on the Lemene River, which bathes the town. The historic centre also offers many shops and typical bars.

Concordia Sagittaria, an important Paleo venetian centre and famous Roman military colony, is located a few minutes from Portogruaro and preserves historical evidence of the past such as the Cathedral of Santo Stefano and the Baptistery in Piazza Cardinal Costantini, where you can start an archaeological itinerary among remains of the Roman period.
